Abstract/Results: ABSTRACT:
Ambiguous figures are visual stimuli that may be perceived in multistable interpretations. The role of attention in modulating perceptual reversals of ambiguous stimuli is not clear. We tested whether perceptual reversals depend on working memory by manipulating its load while the participants were viewing the Necker cube. Increasing working memory load delayed the latency and decreased the frequency of reversals. These effects followed a linear function of load. The findings imply shared resources of the mechanisms responsible for perceptual reversals and working memory maintenance. However, reversals were not completely abolished even with the hard seven-consonants load, suggesting that bottom-up processes continue to operate in the bistable perception dynamics when top-down mechanisms are attenuated.

While viewing ambiguous figures, such as the Necker cube, the available perceptual interpretations alternate with one another. The role of higher level mechanisms in such reversals remains unclear. We tested whether perceptual reversals of discontinuously presented Necker cube pairs depend on working memory resources by manipulating cognitive load while recording event-related potentials (ERPs). The ERPs showed early enhancements of negativity, which were obtained in response to the first cube approximately 500 ms before perceived reversals. We found that working memory load influenced reversal-related brain responses in response to the second cube over occipital areas at the 150–300 ms post-stimulus and over central areas at P3 time window (300–500 ms), suggesting that it modulates intermediate visual processes. Interestingly, reversal rates remained unchanged by the working memory load. We propose that perceptual reversals in discontinuous presentation of ambiguous stimuli are governed by an early (well preceding pending reversals) mechanism, while the effects of load on the reversal related ERPs may reflect general top-down influences on visual processing, possibly mediated by the prefrontal cortex.

The neural correlates of visual awareness are elusive because of its fleeting nature. Here we have addressed this issue by
using single trial statistical ‘‘brain reading’’ of neurophysiological event related (ERP) signatures of conscious perception of
visual attributes with different levels of saliency. Behavioral reports were taken at every trial in 4 experiments addressing
conscious access to color, luminance, and local phase offset cues. We found that single trial neurophysiological signatures of target presence can be observed around 300 ms at central parietal sites. Such signatures are significantly related with
conscious perception, and their probability is related to sensory saliency levels. These findings identify a general neural
correlate of conscious perception at the single trial level, since conscious perception can be decoded as such independently
of stimulus salience and fluctuations of threshold levels. This approach can be generalized to successfully detect target
presence in other individuals.

It remains an outstanding question whether gamma-band oscillations reflect unitary cognitive processes within the same task. EEG/MEG studies do lack the resolution or coverage to address the highly debated question whether single gamma activity patterns are linked with multiple cognitive modules or alternatively each pattern associates with a specific cognitive module, within the same coherent perceptual task. One way to disentangle these issues would be to provide direct identification of their sources, by combining different techniques. Here, we directly examined these questions by performing simultaneous EEG/fMRI using an ambiguous perception paradigm requiring holistic integration. We found that distinct gamma frequency sub-bands reflect different neural substrates and cognitive mechanisms when comparing object perception states vs. no categorical perception. A low gamma sub-band (near 40 Hz) activity was tightly related to the decision making network, and in particular the anterior insula. A high gamma sub-band (~60 Hz) could be linked to early visual processing regions. The demonstration of a clear functional topography for distinct gamma sub-bands within the same task shows that distinct gamma-band modulations underlie sensory processing and perceptual decision mechanisms.

Previous studies have provided evidence for a wide variety of gamma-band patterns and sources for different tasks but not within the same type of cognitive task. Importantly, it remains unclear whether distinct patterns related to different cognitive modules coexist in the same task. Unimodal (EEG/MEG) studies do not have enough resolution to test for non-unitary sources and to establish their spatial distribution. Thus it remains an outstanding question whether gamma-band oscillations reflect unitary cognitive processes within the same task. We combined EEG with fMRI to address the highly debated question whether single gamma activity patterns are linked with multiple cognitive modules or alternatively each pattern associates with a specific cognitive module, within the same coherent perceptual task. We used an ambiguous perception paradigm requiring holistic integration. We found that distinct gamma frequency sub-bands reflect different neural substrates and cognitive mechanisms when comparing object perception states vs. no categorical perception, confirming our previous findings in a clinical model of impaired coherence, Williams Syndrome, whereby different parcellation of gamma activity patterns was identified. Accordingly, low gamma (30-48Hz) responses are related to general perceptual decision-making networks and high gamma activity (52-70Hz) with low level visual processing. These non-unitary patterns are relevant for the understanding of normal and clinical impaired holistic integration and show that current neural models of gamma activity generation need to consider their duality.

INTRODUCTION
Visual processing of ecologically relevant stimuli involves a central bias for stimuli demanding detailed processing (e.g., faces), whereas peripheral object processing is based on coarse identification. Fast detection of animal shapes holding a significant phylogenetic value, such as snakes, may benefit from peripheral vision. The amygdala together with the pulvinar and the superior colliculus are implicated in an ongoing debate regarding their role in automatic and deliberate spatial processing of threat signals.
METHODS
Here we tested twenty healthy participants in an fMRI task, and investigated the role of spatial demands (the main effect of central vs. peripheral vision) in the processing of fear-relevant ecological features. We controlled for stimulus dependence using true or false snakes; snake shapes or snake faces and for task constraints (implicit or explicit). The main idea justifying this double task is that amygdala and superior colliculus are involved in both automatic and controlled processes. Moreover the explicit/implicit instruction in the task with respect to emotion is not necessarily equivalent to explicit vs. implicit in the sense of endogenous vs. exogenous attention, or controlled vs. automatic processes.
RESULTS
We found that stimulus-driven processing led to increased amygdala responses specifically to true snake shapes presented in the centre or in the peripheral left hemifield (right hemisphere). Importantly, the superior colliculus showed significantly biased and explicit central responses to snake-related stimuli. Moreover, the pulvinar, which also contains foveal representations, also showed strong central responses, extending the results of a recent single cell pulvinar study in monkeys. Similar hemispheric specialization was found across structures: increased amygdala responses occurred to true snake shapes presented to the right hemisphere, with this pattern being closely followed by the superior colliculus and the pulvinar.
CONCLUSION
These results show that subcortical structures containing foveal representations such as the amygdala, pulvinar and superior colliculus play distinct roles in the central and peripheral processing of snake shapes. Our findings suggest multiple phylogenetic fingerprints in the responses of subcortical structures to fear-relevant stimuli.

Here we investigated the neurophysiological correlates of conditions of increasing social scene complexity using 3D human models as targets of attention, which may also be important in autism research. Challenging single-trial statistical classification of EEG neural signals was attempted for detection of oddball stimuli with increasing social scene complexity. Stimuli had an oddball structure and were as follows: 1) flashed schematic eyes, 2) simple 3D faces flashed between averted and non-averted gaze (only eye position changing), 3) simple 3D faces flashed between averted and non-averted gaze (head and eye position changing), 4) animated avatar alternated its gaze direction to the left and to the right (head and eye position), 5) environment with 4 animated avatars all of which change gaze and one of which is the target of attention. We found a late (> 300 ms) neurophysiological oddball correlate for all conditions irrespective of their complexity as assessed by repeated measures ANOVA. We attempted single-trial detection of this signal with automatic classifiers and obtained a significant balanced accuracy classification of around 79%, which is noteworthy given the amount of scene complexity. Lateralization analysis showed a specific right lateralization only for more complex realistic social scenes. In sum, complex ecological animations with social content elicit neurophysiological events which can be characterized even at the single-trial level. These signals are right lateralized. These finding paves the way for neuroscientific studies in affective neuroscience based on complex social scenes, and given the detectability at the single trial level this suggests the feasibility of brain computer interfaces that can be applied to social cognition disorders such as autism.

Intrusive thoughts and compulsive urges to perform stereotyped behaviours are typical symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder. Emerging evidence suggests a cognitive bias towards habit formation at the expense of goal-directed performance in obsessive-compulsive disorder. In this study, we test this hypothesis using a novel individualized ecologically valid symptom provocation design: a live provocation functional magnetic resonance imaging paradigm with synchronous video-recording of behavioural avoidance responses. By pairing symptom provocation with online avoidance responses on a trial-by-trial basis, we sought to investigate the neural mechanisms leading to the compulsive avoidance response. In keeping with the model of habit formation in obsessive-compulsive disorder, we hypothesized that this disorder would be associated with lower activity in regions implicated in goal-directed behaviours and higher activity in regions implicated in habitual behaviours. Fifteen patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder and 15 healthy control volunteers participated in this functional magnetic resonance imaging study. Online stimuli were individually tailored to achieve effective symptom provocation at neutral, intermediate and strong intensity levels. During the symptom provocation block, the participant could choose to reject or terminate the provoking stimuli resulting in cessation of the symptom provocation. We thus separately analysed the neural correlates of symptom provocation, the urge to avoid, rejection and relief. Strongly symptom-provoking conditions evoked a dichotomous pattern of deactivation/activation in patients, which was not observed either in control conditions or in healthy subjects: a deactivation of caudate-prefrontal circuits accompanied by hyperactivation of subthalamic nucleus/putaminal regions. This finding suggests a dissociation between regions engaged in goal-directed and habitual behaviours. The putaminal hyperactivity during patients’ symptom provocation preceded subsequent deactivation during avoidance and relief events, indicating a pivotal role of putamen in regulation of behaviour and habit formation in obsessive-compulsive disorder. Effective connectivity analysis identified the ventromedial prefrontal cortex/orbitofrontal cortex as the main structure in this circuitry involved in the modulation of compulsivity in obsessive-compulsive disorder. These findings suggest an imbalance in circuitry underlying habitual and goal-directed action control, which may represent a fundamental mechanism underlying compulsivity in obsessive-compulsive disorder. Our results complement current models of symptom generation in obsessive-compulsive disorder and may enable the development of future therapeutic approaches that aim to alleviate this imbalance.

An exciting area in cognitive neuroscience concerns the investigation of neural mechanisms underlying the emergence of visual perceptual representations. Multistable interpretations of the visual world are striking phenomena that may occur when the retinal image is compatible with multiple perceptual solutions. This occurs even when the physical pattern of retinal stimulation remains constant. Perceptual decision making is thus defined by the choice of an interpretation among a set of potentially ambiguous alternatives based on peripheral sensory evidence. We discuss current multimodal approaches to investigate the neural correlates of competition between multistable alternative neural representations and the generation of antagonistic perceptual interpretations.

OBJECTIVE:
Current approaches in neurofeedback/brain-computer interface research often focus on identifying, on a subject-by-subject basis, the neural regions that are best suited for self-driven modulation. It is known that the hMT+/V5 complex, an early visual cortical region, is recruited during explicit and implicit motion imagery, in addition to real motion perception. This study tests the feasibility of training healthy volunteers to regulate the level of activation in their hMT+/V5 complex using real-time fMRI neurofeedback and visual motion imagery strategies.
APPROACH:
We functionally localized the hMT+/V5 complex to further use as a target region for neurofeedback. An uniform strategy based on motion imagery was used to guide subjects to neuromodulate hMT+/V5.
MAIN RESULTS:
We found that 15/20 participants achieved successful neurofeedback. This modulation led to the recruitment of a specific network as further assessed by psychophysiological interaction analysis. This specific circuit, including hMT+/V5, putative V6 and medial cerebellum was activated for successful neurofeedback runs. The putamen and anterior insula were recruited for both successful and non-successful runs.
SIGNIFICANCE:
Our findings indicate that hMT+/V5 is a region that can be modulated by focused imagery and that a specific cortico-cerebellar circuit is recruited during visual motion imagery leading to successful neurofeedback. These findings contribute to the debate on the relative potential of extrinsic (sensory) versus intrinsic (default-mode) brain regions in the clinical application of neurofeedback paradigms. This novel circuit might be a good target for future neurofeedback approaches that aim, for example, the training of focused attention in disorders such as ADHD.

Abstract/Results: ABSTRACT:
It has been hypothesized that neural synchrony underlies perceptual coherence. The hypothesis of loss of central perceptual coherence has been proposed to be at the origin of abnormal cognition in autism spectrum disorders and Williams syndrome, a neurodevelopmental disorder linked with autism, and a clearcut model for impaired central coherence. We took advantage of this model of impaired holistic processing to test the hypothesis that loss of neural synchrony plays a separable role in visual integration using EEG and a set of experimental tasks requiring coherent integration of local elements leading to 3-D face perception. A profound reorganization of brain activity was identified. Neural synchrony was reduced across stimulus conditions, and this was associated with increased amplitude modulation at 25-45 Hz. This combination of a dramatic loss of synchrony despite increased oscillatory activity is strong evidence that synchrony underlies central coherence. This is the first time, to our knowledge, that dissociation between amplitude and synchrony is reported in a human model of impaired perceptual coherence, suggesting that loss of phase coherence is more directly related to disruption of holistic perception.

The central coherence hypothesis was proposed to explain abnormal cognition in ASD and Williams syndrome (WS), a neurodevelopmental disorder linked with autism, and the most clearcut model for impaired central coherence. We studied this model of impaired holistic processing to test a functional role for neural synchrony using EEG and a set of experimental tasks requiring visual integration at different complexity levels. We tested whether synchronization and amplitude modulation of gamma patterns can be segregated in this model. We used a set of experimental tasks requiring feature integration at different complexity levels (static and motion, 2D and 3D face stimuli) and compared gamma-band activity and synchrony between WS patients (n=9; 21.44 ± 2.30 years) and a normal control group. WS diagnostic was confirmed based on clinical and genetic criteria. Control participants (n=8) were matched on chronological age, gender and handedness. EEG was recorded using a SynAmps2 64 channel system, at 2kHz and processed offline. Data were corrected and segmented into epochs locked to the stimulus onset (-0.5s to 1.5s) for all conditions. Time-frequency (TF) and phase synchrony analysis were performed as in Uhlhaas et al., 2006. TF analysis was carried out in Matlab® across distinct defined electrode clusters (Parietal, Temporal, Parieto-Occipital and Occipital) for frequencies ranging from 10Hz to 90Hz. Phase-locking values (PLV) were computed between all possible pairs of electrodes, and the stability of phase differences was evaluated through all the trials. For the statistical comparison between groups, Wilcoxon ranksum tests were carried out including false discovery rate (FDR) correction for multiple comparisons. Groups differed (p<0.02 FDR corrected) in three main frequency sub-bands: controls showed higher synchrony at 10-22Hz and 30-43Hz and WS showed increased synchrony for the 62-79Hz frequency band. The condition requiring the highest level of integration (SFM) was the one associated with the most dramatic loss of synchrony in the WS group. This suggests a dependence on visual complexity and integration requirements and is in line with the proposal that perception requires mechanisms for integration and feature binding that rely on the neuronal synchrony. Moreover, synchrony was reduced in WS across stimulus conditions in striking contrast with increased amplitude modulation at 25-45Hz. This signature of dramatic loss of synchrony as opposed to concomitantly increased activation (amplitude), provides evidence that synchrony underlies central coherence irrespective of power changes in gamma activity.

Fluctuations in sustained attention lead to moment-to-moment fluctuations in task performance. Even in easy repetitive visuomotor tasks, human performance fluctuates with time. These variations in performance have been linked to fluctuations in the activity of the attention networks. Attention has an impact in early stimulus processing, yet, the relationship between moment-to-moment fluctuations in task performance and early stimulus processing is still not clear. In this study, we explored this relationship by taking advantage of the high temporal resolution of EEG signals, and adopting a within-subject, whole time course analysis of single trial ERP data. We studied the neuronal correlates of reaction time variability in a simple visuomotor two-choice reaction time task. The task was chosen in order to minimize speed-accuracy tradeoffs while maintaining the requirement for overt attention on the visual stimulus. We acquired EEG recordings during task performance, from healthy young adults, using a 64-channel Neuroscan system. In order to determine if trial-to-trial differences in visual evoked responses might be caused by slight shifts in the position of gaze fixation at the time of stimulus onset, we also recorded gaze position during task performance with a dark pupil eye tracking system, iView X (SensoMotoric Intruments - SMI). Our results revealed that visual evoked potentials in a time window between 150 and 300 ms after stimulus onset correlate with reaction time on a trial-by-trial basis. Within this time window, the visual evoked potentials presented a marked negative peak with bilateral occipito-parietal topography (N1/N170). Trials associated with faster responses, presented a sharper N1 potential, with a narrower distribution in time and higher peak amplitude, while slower trials were associated with smaller amplitudes and a broadening of the N1 shape in time. Eye gaze position at time of stimulus onset did not correlate with these ERP amplitude values, suggesting that these differences were not related to differences in external input but, most likely, were related to moment-to-moment differences in internal state. In conclusion, our observations suggest that fluctuations in reaction time reflect trial-to-trial differences in the amplitude of visual evoked potentials as early as 150 ms after stimulus onset. The time course and topography of these neural responses suggest that these originate in the ventral extrastriate cortex, a visual area sensitive to feature-based attention.

The identification and interpretation of facial expressions is an important feature of social cognition. This characteristic is often impaired in various neurodevelopmental disorders. Recent therapeutic approaches to intervene in social communication impairments include neurofeedback (NF). In this study, we present a NF real-time functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (rt-fMRI), combined with electroencephalography (EEG) to train social communication skills. In this sense, we defined the right Superior Temporal Sulcus as our target region-of-interest. To analyze the correlation between the fMRI regions of interest and the EEG data, we transposed the sources located at the nearest cortical location to the target region. We extracted a set of 75 features from EEG segments and performed a correlation analysis with the brain activations extracted from rt-fMRI in the right pSTS region. The finding of significant correlations of simultaneously measured signals in distinct modalities (EEG and fMRI) is promising. Future studies should address whether the observed correlation levels between local brain activity and scalp measures are sufficient to implement NF approaches.

OBJECTIVES
This project had the following main goals: 1. to investigate the coupling between perception and oscillatory neural synchrony. 2. Neurophysiological correlates and temporal dynamics of perceptual decision. An important goal was to provide a critical test to the binding by synchrony hypothesis in humans.
METHOD
We have developed a set of paradigms involving long-range perceptual spatial integration.
Some of these paradigms included stimuli requiring interhemispheric integration (roof shaped patterns), and holistic integration for perceptual decision.
RESULTS
We found that oscillation amplitude and phase coherence can be uncoupled when related with the emergence of perceptual decision. Moreover we identified that perception related different gamma band sub components that be traced to distinct neural modules within the perceptual decision network, as also tested by simultaneous EEG/fMRI. Concerning the roof-shaped patterns, by analyzing the EEG signal resulting from coherent object perception of ambiguous/unambiguous stimuli we were surprised to identify common features of oscillatory activity in the beta-gamma frequency range. This particular subband seems to be involved in perception related changes in oscillatory patterning. The topography of EEG synchronization is this band seems to be not directly related to the emergence or disruption of bilateral synchronization and the areas involved in bilateral integration of such roof-shaped patterns. Importantly, we were able to also implement data-driven approaches to test the hypothesis of binding by synchrony in humans which are critical to test model driven approaches.
CONCLUSIONS
In sum our data highlight a complex network of regions involved in perceptual decision making and seem to support a functional role for spatiotemporal patterns in the beta and gamma frequency range for perceptual integration, but do not support a direct role for the binding by synchrony hypothesis.

A visual stimulus is defined as ambiguous when observers perceive it as having at least two distinct and spontaneously alternating interpretations. Neuroimaging studies suggest an involvement of a right fronto-parietal network regulating the balance between stable percepts and the triggering of alternative interpretations. As spontaneous perceptual reversals may occur even in the absence of attention to these stimuli, we investigated neural activity patterns in response to perceptual changes of ambiguous Necker cube under different amounts of working memory load using a dual-task design. We hypothesized that the same regions that process working memory load are involved in perceptual switching and confirmed the prediction that perceptual reversals led to fMRI responses that linearly depended on load. Accordingly, posterior Superior Parietal Lobule, anterior Prefrontal and Dorsolateral Prefrontal cortices exhibited differential BOLD signal changes in response to perceptual reversals under working memory load. Our results also suggest that the posterior Superior Parietal Lobule may be directly involved in the emergence of perceptual reversals, given that it specifically reflects both perceptual versus real changes and load levels. The anterior Prefrontal and Dorsolateral Prefrontal cortices, showing a significant interaction between reversal levels and load, might subserve a modulatory role in such reversals, in a mirror symmetric way: in the former activation is suppressed by the highest loads, and in the latter deactivation is reduced by highest loads, suggesting a more direct role of the aPFC in reversal generation.

Olfactory decision-making plays an important role in chemical cue detection, signaling potential predators, and/or presence of venoms, which is crucial for survival. However, and regardless the advances concerning perceptual decision making in other sensory modalities, little is known concerning olfactory decisionmaking in humans, in particular when perceptual uncertainty is high. In this work, we addressed olfactory decision-making under high levels of uncertainty and distinct levels of decision confidence; we aimed to understand the decision-making circuitry based on simple olfactory detection and binary decision using functional magnetic resonance imaging.
Thus, we have used an olfactory paradigm using phenylethyl alcohol, a pure olfactory stimulus, with a block design under fMRI. Different concentrations of phenylethyl alcohol were used and the participants (n=20) were asked to classify each stimulus based on detection and to report their confidence level. Our experimental design allowed to separate levels of odor intensity from levels of detection and confidence.
Behavioral results reveal high level of uncertainty either for detection or for confidence, in spite of participants being above chance level. Concerning functional outcomes, our results identify, as expected, that primary and early olfactory pathways
(primary olfactory cortex, putamen and amygdala) are activated by detection (maximum PEA concentration vs minimum PEA concentration, t>2.17, p=0.03) as well as confidence (maximum confidence versus minimum confidence, t>2.33, p=0.02) analysis. Importantly, higher confidence levels related to higher recruitment of regions responsible for the evaluation of the reward-value and olfactory hedonic memory such as anterior cingulate cortex, medial frontal gyrus, thalamus, insula and hippocampus. These regions are activated only when confidence is tested.
These results show independent patterns of activation of the olfactory and decision making networks, as determined by differences of concentration or confidence levels. High confidence led to activation of circuits related to hedonic pleasure, irrespective of detection.

INTRODUCTION:
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) subjects have impaired face recognition and emotional expression identification (Greimel et al. 2014). Some studies have revealed impaired gamma-band responses with reduced coherence for a broad range of perceptual and visuomotor tasks and in particular deficits in simple sensory and complex cognitive tasks requiring holistic processing (Richard 2012; Sun et al. 2012; Buard et al. 2013). Emerging evidence suggests that the deficits in ASD may be related to sensory integration problems and can be explained by abnormal neuronal oscillations (Peiker et al. 2015). We add to previous work by asking whether changes in gamma-band power and synchrony are either specific to stimuli requiring sensory integration or a more general deficit not only related to holistic processes.
METHODS:
We investigated the neural correlates of these phenomena by measuring EEG in high-functioning adults with ASD (n=9; age M=23.1 years; SD=7.04; Full scale IQ>70) and healthy controls (n=16; age M=23.4 years; SD=5.06), during a face decision task. Subjects had a two choice decision (is it a face? Yes or No). The task included a comprehensive set of photographic, schematic and Mooney (which can only be processed holistically) upright and inverted faces, and scrambled images. The 40 channel NuAmps system (Compumedics, Neuroscan) with a 1kHz sampling rate was used. Data were analyzed offline in the time-frequency domain (EEGLAB toolbox v13.6.5b) and a bootstrap approach was applied for statistical comparison of groups. In a subset (n=5) of ASD patients we also acquired Magnetic Resonance Neurospectroscopy (3T Siemens Trio) in a 3x3x3cm voxel located in the bilateral medial prefrontal cortex using MEGA-PRESS for quantification of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) (inhibition) and glutamate (excitation). MRS data was quantified using LCModel software and in-house developed software was used for correction of metabolites concentration for the CSF content of the voxel. The spearman correlation was computed between metabolites concentration and power parameters.
RESULTS:
Behaviorally, ASD and healthy controls were performance matched. Time-frequency data analysis revealed a burst of activity around 200ms replicating previous EEG results with Mooney stimuli (Rodriguez et al. 1999). We found significant differences between groups for three main categories of frequency bands (p<0.001 with bootstrap 1000, 95%). ASD have increased power for the lower band 10-30Hz (Mooney faces upright and inverted faces conditions) but decreased power at 30-45Hz and 55-80Hz (Mooney faces upright and inverted) in comparison to controls. That increase in power was accompanied by a decrease in synchrony for the 10-30Hz band. Interestingly we found a positive correlation (r=0.829, p=0.042) between GABA/Glutamate ratio and power of ambiguous conditions at 30-45Hz in patients.
CONCLUSIONS
We found that abnormal oscillations are specific of conditions requiring holistic integration and thus may be a consequence of cortical E-I (excitation vs inhibition) imbalance and their impact on binding mechanisms and might ultimately constitute a new construct of a biomarker for ASD.
